My favorite thing about January is that it's THE time of year when the world is energetically chock-full of new beginnings. All over Earth, people of different nationalities, ethnicities, and spiritual beliefs are releasing the old, and welcoming the new. And, that is an immense amount of energy to be pointing in the same direction at the same time. When else are we all so in sync?
One change I can point to is that I'm in the midst of typing up my first-ever newsletter. And, that's exciting.
While the winter solstice and the Gregorian calendar's New Year's Eve and Day have already come and gone, people are still beginning new beginnings, and learning things they didn't even know they didn't know as they do so. The Chinese New Year (traditionally celebrated for sixteen days) always occurs on the day of the new moon that falls between January 21 and February 20, and so has yet to even begin. Hence, we currently find ourselves smack dab in the midst of the spirit of change on Earth.
There is still time to surf the wave of change.
Still time to let go of the old, stagnant energy taking up space within us, so that we can make room for the new that we have yet to create.
In the U.S., we sometimes get attached to things. So attached that we won't let go, regardless of whether to do so would serve that thing's best interest, or even our own best interest. Trees are one beautiful example of nature's innate wisdom of non-attachment.
I invite you to envision a bare tree. Rid of every leaf. Those leaves had a time to offer their support . . . those leaves did so . . . and those leaves have by now branched off on their own new paths since decomposing back into the ground from which they sprang. The energy of those leaves hasn't disappeared; it been released to transmute into something new. And, most importantly, those leaves have made room for the new leaves yet to come.
There is a reason that trees live for hundreds of years.
It's time to make room for the new!
There's a shift going on. A shift for the better. Folks feel it all around, these days. And we're smack dab in the midst of the best time of year for fueling that shift with the energy of change! It's time for changes to personal habits (give preference to natural medicine, in lieu of Big Pharma's products!) . . . time for changes to the system we live in (give preference to local businesses, in lieu of larger corporations — and, while we're at it, let's start our own local businesses!) . . . and, it's time for us to come together insodoing.
