Apologies

I recently attended a screening of the documentary Red Power: Standing Rock Part II (focused on protestors of the Dakota Access Pipeline). It's heartwrenching what travesties, now and today, continue to be committed against native peoples and the lands they live on.

My own family tree remains largely a mystery to me, and I don't know exactly who my ancestors were or what they did. Word is that I am 1/16 Cherokee, but I otherwise am primarily of Western European descent, including some smatterings of Irish and British. In any case, I simply want to express my lamentations in response to, and apologies for, the abominations committed by anyone who partook in the colonization of North America, whose genes I carry.
