Plan a Staycation at Home
Realistically speaking, not all of us are able to take a break away from home. (And, judging from how my own recent "vacation" went, that may be a blessing in disguise!) My experience at the Grand Canyon that I describe in my post about collaboration was a huge reminder that the most important thing is not where you are or what you're doing, but first and foremost who you're with.

If you need a break but can't leave the house, set aside some vacation time for yourself and your family anyway. Take a staycation. Make a vow to turn off your phones and computers for the length of your staycation, and approach your city or town with a new pair of eyes.
